Abstract |
|
Space fragments, junk, trash, garbage, or debris is the collection of obsolete artificial entities in space – old satellites, consumed rocket phases, and debris from fragmentation, corrosion, and crashes – including those caused by debris itself. Orbital fragments or "space debris" consists of artificial objects of variable size and structure that revolve around the earth. These comprise space vehicles that are no longer active, entities used by spaceships during their operations, and debris generated when they were obliterated. There is an urgent need of cleaning because space could soon become too risky to visit unless deserted satellites and rockets are removed from orbit. |
