In this paper, the design of a smart headband for epileptic seizure prediction is presented. Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder and affects people of all ages. Epilepsy is characterized by unpredictable seizures and can cause other health problems. The seizures in epilepsy may be related to a brain injury or a family tendency, but often the cause is completely unknown. This paper aims at creating a solution which can predict that a seizure is about to occur so a caregiver and/or the user can pause what they are doing and take appropriate preventative action. In this solution we have used an IOT Brain Sensing Headband, and Raspberry Pi Zero for processing. We also will use machine learning to train our neural net to predict the seizure before it occurs. The solution aids to create a cost effective solution to help Epilepsy Patients using IOT and Deep Learning. |
