Abstract |

Nanotechnology is one of the most active research areas that include a number of disciplines including civil engineering and construction materials. Nano technology is the study of the control of matter nano atomic and molecular scale. It deals with the size 100 nanometers or smaller, and involves developing materials or devices within that size. Nanotechnology is being applied to paints and insulating properties, produced by the addition of nano-sized cells, pores and particles. This type of paint is used, at present, for corrosion protection under insulation since it is hydrophobic and repels water from the metal pipe and can also protect metal from salt water attack. TiO2 nano particles are also being used in coating material. |
