This paper justifies the effect of orientation on the performance of closed loop oscillating heat pipe. An experimental investigation has been carried out on the thermal performance of the CLOHP for different inclination of CLOHP position using water based CuO nanofluid. The thermal performance of the device has been investigated with varying heat power in the range of 30–150W in for 50% filling ratio. The overall thermal resistance and heat rejected by CLOHP are evaluated to predict the thermal performance of the device. Here we had performed experiment for three different positions of an OHP as 0° (vertical), 30°, and 60° positions. The result shows that OHP gives better performance in inclined positions compared to vertical position. Also, 30° inclination position gives better result compare to 60° inclined positions. |
