Abstract

Boiler is the primary source of producing steam and hot water generation in industrial processing plants where steam demands of boiler is vary very frequently according to the requirements. Due to this, it produces possibilities of errors at measuring and various stages involved with human workers. So a reliable monitoring and controlling system are necessary to avoid such failure, which is achieved by Programmable Logic Controller, PID Control and SCADA system. The proposed system outlines the design and development of 3 element control in boiler system using PLC, PID, SCADA, and sensors. PLC and SCADA interfaced via RS232 communication cables. The proposed system focuses on passing the inputs to drum at a required level, so as to constantly maintain a particular level in the boiler. SCADA is used to monitor steam pressure, Water flow and water level using different sensors and the corresponding output is given to the PLC which controls the boiler feed water, steam flow & water level. If the temperature and pressure inside the boiler exceed the predefined value then the entire system is shut down. In case of emergency different automated check valves are used to release pressure, steam and inform the concerned authority through the alarm. Boiler automation is done through PLC- PID SIMULATION Delta soft and Dia-view SCADA software.
