Abstract |
In the strength of concrete sand includes a major role. The main aim of this research paper is to recycle the waste material from saw mill & utilize it as concrete ingredients in the state of partial replacement. Partial replacement of sand with sawdust in concrete is defined as a composite concrete made with Portland cement, aggregate and fine churns of sawdust. This experimental work is carried out to decide the strength of concrete by adding sawdust as partial replacement of sand in concrete of grade M15 and M20. Concrete cubes having dimensions as per IS 10086 (150 X 150 X 150mm) were casted. Cubes were tested at an interval of 7, 14 and 28 days. . The results indicates that the density of concrete reduces as the percentage of replacement increases but an increase in percentage of sawdust produces a percentage reduction in compressive strength than in density. Variations taken for sawdust replacement in M15 grade are 2.5%, 5%, 10% and in M20 grade are 5%, 10%, 15%. |
