Abstract |
This article presents the design and implementation of a ride sharing application for a mobile environment. It will enable users to share car rides in an efficient and simple way. Use of this system should reduce significantly the number of private cars on the roads, providing ecological, economical, and social benefits. The application is designed for "smartphones", thus enabling implementation of the sharing in real time, from anywhere, anytime. The application requires an algorithm for finding sub-routes in a user-defined path, according to the number of matched points along the path. This application differs from the existing car sharing applications in several ways. The article will describe both the system and the specific differences from other softwares. |
