Abstract |
An emerging class of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applications involves the acquisition of large amounts of sensory data from battery powered, low computation and low memory wireless sensor nodes. This paper focuses on minimizing and optimizing energy consumption based on the routing method as a general model for WSN deployment and development. The model deals with all common aspects of energy consumption in all types of WSNs. The proposed work presents an improved version of LEACH protocol which aims to reduce energy consumption within the wireless sensor network and prolong the lifetime of the network. This paper improves LEACH protocol by improving the selection strategy of the cluster-head node based on remaining the previous performance with respect to failure of sensor nodes as being a cluster head. |
