Abstract |

Feature extraction and selection is an important step in pattern recognition for the image processing. Feature selection directly affects the efficiency and accuracy of the pattern classification algorithm. Feature selection methods provides a way to create a perfect predictive model and is also used to remove unneeded, irrelevant and redundant attributes in the data. This paper gives the introduction to four feature selection methods with the comparative study. It shows that the selection of the methods is to be done based on the input parameters and the environmental situations as needed. |
