Abstract |

In this paper, particle swarm optimization (PSO) which is one of the latest and emerging computing techniques is applied successfully to solve the problem of economic load dispatch (ELD). The fitness function considered here is minimization of fuel cost of generators. A case study of six generator system is presented to show the result. The results show that PSO is a better technique than the lambda iteration method. All the analysis is carried out in MATLAB environment. |
