Abstract

8011 Al Carbon fiber composites were three different percentage of reinforcement the composites were manufactured through stir casting under Nitrogen gas atmospheres. Hot extrusion is carried on cast billets to decrease number of pores and to improve the interfacial bonding strength between the 8011 Al alloy and Carbon fiber particle. The extruded rod was heat treated in a solutionzing for 3 hours at 530 0C followed by cold water quenching to room temperature. The rod was artificially aged with range of 130 0C -2100C for 1-9 hours.
