Abstract |

This paper overviews application of desiccant wheel for dehumidification and cooling process in Heating ventilation and air conditioning systems. Any conventional Air conditioner consumes a large amount of electricity or energy specially when humidity level is high and humid in atmosphere due to high level of latent energy. Desiccant wheels are contenders with hybrid air conditioning systems to handle high efficiency due to high level of latent heat amount. Desiccant is a substance or chemical that absorbs or attracts moisture or water vapour molecules from the air, causing a state of dryness. Desiccants are available in various forms and are widely used in many industries, such as: Packing, commercial and hotels etc. Desiccant wheel in air conditioning systems has been considered as one of the most effective process to control humidity of ambient air and reduce the energy consumption. Energy consumption is the essential phrase worldwide after ongoing of Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19) pandemic, the first outbreak of which started in Wuhan, Hubei, China. |
