Epoxy-coated steel reinforcing bars are widely used in concrete construction to improve corrosion resistance. The coating, however, causes a reduction in bond strength between reinforcing bars and concrete. The main objective of this study was to study the bond strength of epoxy coated reinforcement and equivalent uncoated bars. The effectiveness of bond strength between reinforcing steel and concrete is the most important requirement of reinforced concrete as composite building material. Thereby, the bond quality is influenced by a wide range of parameters. The Present investigation, bond strength of the epoxy coated grey colour, green colour and uncoated steel bar with concrete was studied. Tests were conducted on 45 rectangular pullout concrete specimens with compressive strength 25 MPa at an age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days. The embedded length of steel bars were considered in this test are 400 mm with 24 mm diameter of bar. The accuracy of result obtained from analytical analysis using ABAQUS software is validated by comparing it with previous literature study and experimental work. |
