The Sanskrit, PrÄkrit, Hindi, Marathi, and Nepali languages are written using the Devanagari script. There are some complexities in the handwritten Devnagari script, such as linked, overlapping text lines, words and characters. It is one of the key problems during the identification process for errors. Text segmentation is a daunting activity in the handwritten document image processing of unconstrained authors. There is a huge need for research in the domain of Marathi handwriting recognition to resolve these challenging problems. In this paper we have done a review on various methods for line, word and character segmentation in handwritten Marathi document. |
