Abstract |
|
Wind energy refers to the process of creating electricity using the wind, or air flows that occur naturally in the earth’s atmosphere. Wind turbines are used to capture kinetic energy from the wind and generate electricity. Wind energy is non-uniform throughout the day and therefore generates power quality problems in the grid connected system. The fluctuation of power at each wind turbine is affected by the turbine type, control algorithm, difference in wind speed, and the tower shadow effect. A wind system is proposed which connects to the grid. Simulation of the proposed system is done by using HOMER software. The optimal solution of wind system which is linked to the grid is obtained through simulation. The obtained data will be very useful for real time implementation of the system. |
