Abstract

This paper presents the power output forecasting of grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system using artificial neural network based nonlinear autoregressive network with exogenous inputs (NARX) model. Two input to the model are solar irradiance and temperature and target as power output. One-year, monthly average dataset is taken as a training dataset for the training of the model. The training function is selected as levenberg-marquardt backpropagation function. The Grid connected PV system is modelled and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. Simulation results shows that developed NARX model forecast the PV output power very well.
