Abstract

This paper presents the improved artificial intelligence based MPPT controller for grid connected solar photovoltaic (PV) system. Grid-connection of photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems has the benefit of efficient utilisation of generated power since there are no storage losses involved. The proposed system consist of PV array, DC-DC boost converter, Three phase voltage source inverter and utility grid along with the MPPT controller. Complete system is modeled in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The performance of the proposed MPPT controller is compared with the conventional P&O MPPT controller. Simulation results shows that proposed ANN based MPPT controller gives better performance in terms of power output, system efficiency and dynamic response.
