Abstract

After formation of Gujarat state in may 1960, it is striving hard to improve its economy as well as regional development in all fields. To achieve agricultural and industrial development, all efforts are put to develop the water resources of state. For equitable development of entire state, major medium and minor irrigation schemes across the rivers of all the state are being taken up at all feasible storage sites. Gandhinagar is the capital of Gujarat state the problems of low water level and water quality standard is affected in the whole district. The piezometric well and artificial well data analysis by bar chart and using Golden Surfer Software. The study is useful to know effectiveness of artificial recharge in water level and water quality. Groundwater is one of the most valuable natural resources requiring systematic study for the development of the area. Gandhinagar has been selected as study area which have low water table and needs to improve water quality. The area is occupied mainly by alluvial plain and having coarse sandy loamy soil. Groundwater is the water present below earth's surface in soil pore spaces and in the fractures of rock formation. Groundwater deposit in aquifer when it can yield a usable quantity of water. Groundwater is present in virtually all landscapes. Generally it arise at mountainous, river, coastal, glacial, and dune. We have collect different data's of Gandhinagar like Average rainfall, Groundwater level, Groundwater Quality (TDS).
